Buffet at Fika

So the Ramadan month is over and Hari Raya begins. What a fantastic way to spend the last week of fasting, breaking fast at the HALAL swedish cafe & bistro called Fika. My sister and I were both excited that joining us was Auntie Lini, Uncle Hisyam & their adorable son Zynedine! Needless to say it was a day to remember.

My sister and I roamed Haji lane in wait of their arrival at Fika swedish cafe. Many things to see, most of which are clothing and vintage boutique miscellaneous items which were oh! so desirable. Next time then.

In the mood for some photographing!

When Zynedine arrived along with Untie Lini & Uncle Hisyam, I assumed he was happy to see us too because this is what he looked like when he saw us:

Cute isn't he?

Off Next to Golden Landmark! they needed to find Baju Kurung ( which everyone knows is the malay traditional clothing). Now, Zynedine is a funny kid and active too. Running around, full of energy that one would not have noticed that he is actually fasting on that day too. wow!
Where did he get the energy source from is still a mystery to me.

 spin!

 jump!
 reach!
pose!
peace!

here, he's posing like a tourist!

me too posing in front of the murals with him!

Now off to Fika as it was nearing break fasting time..

here is Untie Lini!

"Mr, Please wear your glasses the right way!" said Untie Lini to little Zynedine!

Perfect Family shot! all ready to get their food from the buffet. Oh! yea did I forget to mention that it was a buffet? Yes it was!

My sister too was ready to grab some food!

and so was I !

Oh! I look sleepy here -_- Zzz

a gust of wind picked up the scent of the food and sent it flying towards me and I didn't look so sleepy anymore!

On that day's menu was, spicy aglio olio, swedish meatballs, roasted chicken slices, mash potatoes (Zynedine's favourite) and Steamed potatoes!

Here is what happened after our break fast!
SHOPPING! (for Untie Lini)

bbuing bbuing!

Zynedine & Me!

Finally the day came to an end, It was a fun packed day for my sister and me. I am sure they enjoyed their day just as much as we enjoyed ours. You can visit my sister's blog here!

Experience à Salon Vim Bugis

After the tragedy that is...National Service, gone was my long hair and side swipe bangs. Instead, say hello to the bald headed character that looks kinda like the 'Worms' character in that sorta popular old time game.

Finally after 6 months, my hair grew not much, but enough to get a proper hairstyle. I was excited to try the side shave style and was looking for a good hair salon to go to. I stumbled upon Salon Vim @ Bugis area. My sister recommended it, saying many Bloggers get their hair done in this very salon.

Here, I am having flat hair and puffy sides! some one please tame my hair..

Here We Go!

Maybe I should wear my hair this way all the time... NAH! Lets shave them off!

Sides...

Be gone!

Time to style my new hair! gotta say, I was expecting myself to not suit the style of hair I went for but, I'm actually loving it:) My sides looked better then the puffy looking aforementioned hair.

ta-da!

Finally, some cliché shots outside the salon itself with my new hair-do! Yeah!

All pictures were taken by my sister as she waits for me to get my hair done. thank you syara! click here! (my sister's blog)

'Less than 5 mins' Nora Danish portraiture.

Here marks the beginning ( it's my first blog post ever! ) and am excited to share my experience with a celeb from the neighboring country. She is the beautiful Nora Danish and she was here for mio TV's Ramadan program.
We picked her up from the airport and off to the Royal Plaza on Scotts, where she stayed in a corporate suite. I gotta say, it was pretty sweet that suite! (no pun)
Oh yes! sitting here make you feel "like a boss"

Que. nora danish, all make-ed up and ready to go. She walked in with her curly thing-a-ma-jiggy on her fringe, its funny. Way to light the room up!
The day started out with a humble interview and as the hours progressed, and the interviews kept coming, 'humble' became an understatement.
I thought to myself being a celeb is in fact more tiring than it seemed.

Next up was the a scripted interview for the viewers of mio TV. No problems here reading a short script for the experienced actress of several Malaysia popular dramas and films.
yea, I wish I was better at Malay to really understand what she is saying. She's good nonetheless. (thumbs up!)

Camera's rolling as we watch the interview unfold in the room!

Bloopers! Adi Putra and Nora Danish laugh it out.

At this point, the interviews were done, the cameras stopped rolling and the artist were ready to leave for their rooms or spend their free time shopping! Well, you know which one's which. I took this brief window of opportunity to get a quickie (not like that) 5 minutes portraiture session with her, to which she kindly agrees! YES!

With not much time and preparation, I decided the shoot was to use available soft/diffused light from the windows that had blinds on them. I lifted the blinds to let in more light while still diffusing it a bit.
She quickly took position without me directing. Must have been the years of experience of photo shoots for magazines.

Shooting her was like stepping in front of those sliding glass doors in the shopping centre and and by some magical will, opened by itself. She felt comfortable in front of the camera with every pose she did, my job was simple.
I simple released the shutter. telling her where to face and whatnot. It was an interesting experience to me and i am thankful for it. here are a few from that session:
